How To Hard Reset | Factory Reset Samsung Galaxy S5 Using Its Hardware Keys

The new Samsung Galaxy S5 Smartphone comes in more than one model number, Some of those models come to a specific country, And others come to a specific carrier, There are SM-G900A, SM-G900H, SM-G900F, SM-G900i, SM-G900P, SM-G900T and much more.

This Tutorial will show you what steps you should follow to Hard Reset & Factory Reset your Samsung Galaxy S5 device fast and easy, The same steps can be applied on all Galaxy S5 variants, You will need to do this operation in many cases, We listed some of those cases below.

Keep in mind that formatting your device will erase all your personal data like messages, Contacts, Photos, Installed applications, Notes...etc, Everything you saved on the device internal memory will be lost forever, So make sure to backup and save any wanted data to an external storage like external memory card, SIM card, Or PC.

The Hard Reset / Factory Reset operation can fix many software related errors and problems:

- After installing bad or unsupported application into your Samsung mobile phone, Which causes your phone to be frozen.

- Before selling the device, To Wipe all your saved personal data.

Before performing the Hard Reset:

- In case your Samsung Galaxy S5 can connect to a computer, Then it is better to make a backup of your saved data using Samsung kies software, You can read this Guide to learn how.

- But in case that is not possible, Then you can check that your phone's battery has enough charg level, Otherwise you should charge it.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Hard Reset Steps:

- Turn your Galaxy S5 off.

- Take its battery out.

- Take out any existed SIM or memory card.

- Wait for 10 seconds.

- Put the battery back, But do not turn on your device.

- Press and hold the Volume Up key + Home key, Then press the Power key.

- Keep pressing the keys until Samsung Logo appears,Then release all keys.

- Wait until you get  the Factory reset / System Recovery menu on screen.

- Use the Volume Down key to select Wipe Data / Factory Reset option.

- Use the Power key to confirm the operation.

- You need to use the Volume Down key again to select "Yes -- delete all user data"

- Use the Power key to confirm.

- After performing the hard reset, Select Reboot System Now option, And confirm it using the Power key.

- Now the phone will reboots, Wait for it to be fully on and then you can start using it.


 

New Hard Reset / Factory Reset Method Using Odin3 Flasher:


In case you cannot put the Samsung Galaxy S5 Into Recovery Mode for any reason, Then you can use this new method to Hard Reset the device so easy, Just follow the below steps:

- Download and Extract Samsung Galaxy S5 Hard Reset File ( SM-G900F | SM-G900H | SM-G900i ).

- Download Odin3 flasher.

- Put your phone into Download Mode.

- Run Odin3.exe

- Click on CSC button and Select the Hard Reset file.

- Connect your phone to PC via USB cable, And wait until Odin3 detects the phone.

- Click on Start button and wait until the operation done.

- Now your Samsung Galaxy S5 will be rebooted.

- Done.
